The second in the gripping paranormal crime trilogy from Kathleen Peacock has the same great mix of page-turning action scenes and heady romance.
Mac can’t lose another friend. Even if he doesn’t want to be found.
The ripple effect caused by Mac’s best friend Amy’s murder has driven Mac’s new love, Kyle, to leave Hemlock and disappear from her life forever. But Mac knows that Kyle plans to enroll in a rehabilitation camp, where he can live with other werewolves. She refuses to accept his decision, especially since the camps are rumored to be tortuous. So she sets out in search of Kyle with a barely sober Jason—and Amy’s all-seeing ghost—in tow.
Clues lead Mac to find Kyle in a werewolf den in Colorado—but their reunion is cut short by a Tracker raid. Now Mac and Kyle are trapped inside the electric fences of Thornhill, a camp for young werewolves. As she devises an escape plan, Mac uncovers dangerous secrets buried within the walls of Thornhill—and realizes that the risk to the people she loves is greater than ever before.
HEMLOCK was one of my favorite books of 2012. It gave new life to the werewolf mythology, and the worlds they inhabit. Cannot wait until THORNHILL comes out.

Mackenzie Dobson knows the rules. Be careful walking alone at night, avoid anyone who growls and report suspicious behaviour to the nearest registration bureau. One bite or scratch and you could end up infected with Lupine Syndrome - the werewolf virus - and holding a one-way ticket to the nearest rehabilitation camp. Not that knowing the rules does much good. Mac's best friend, Amy, knew the rules and a werewolf still tore out her throat.Four months later, Mac, Kyle and Jason - Amy's two best friends and her boyfriend - are still trying to pick up the pieces. As Jason searches for a way to find Amy's killer, Mac discovers a terrible secret about Kyle when he saves her from a brutal assault: he's infected. She's suddenly caught between a friend who's sworn to kill a werewolf and a friend who actually is a werewolf. And when another series of attacks rocks Hemlock, Mac begins to suspect that Amy's death might not have been the act of a lone, crazed werewolf. If she can dodge an extremist anti-werewolf group and a group of wolves sent to investigate the attacks, she might be able to figure out who was really behind Amy's death. But werewolves and mysteries aren't the only problems Mackenzie is facing.
As Mac starts to realize she has feelings for Kyle, Jason reveals a secret he's been carrying for months: minutes before Amy's death, he broke up with her because he was in love with someone else: Mac.
